Thistle and Time has a podcast to accompany this website. Called Hidden Histories of the Scottish Borders. Now in its second season, new episodes are released fortnightly on Thursdays, and are available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other major platforms.
Each bite-sized episode tells the hidden story of a historic site in the Scottish Borders Region. It covers raids, reivers, and war, as well as the stories of the families who lived through the Borders’ turbulent past.
Season one ended with Timpendean Tower, The Fortress That Refused To Die. Season two began with Torwoodlee Tower: Raids, Reivers And Covenanters.
All previous episodes remain available to stream from wherever you receive your podcasts. Places covered so far include Roxburgh Castle, Neidpath Castle, Smailholm Tower and Traquair House. There are episodes on the great border abbeys, and a special episode telling the story of the Border Reivers.
