Scotland’s history and heritage

This is a travel and history blog about Scotland’s historical sites and heritage landscapes that I have visited since moving to Scotland in 2019.

Here you can read about the wonderful places I have explored, sometimes together with my partner and sometimes with my friend, Norman. These historical places include amazing sites such as Stirling Castle, the chain bridge over the Tweed, or the Leaderfoot viaduct. I will provide a history of the site visited, especially if it is a castle, abbey ruin or similar. And I will always include what I see or learn on these travels.

I also include a selction of photos, almost all being taken by me. However, some will be library photos if mine don’t do a particular place proper justice.
